Multi-Mortar Quad Launcher Renault Pattern Rapier

By: Tiny Panzer Studio

$4.50

Renault Pattern Multi-Mortar
Options:
– Hull armor is optional
– Hull with or without trench rail
– two weapon options: six medium mortars or four heavy mortar
– Additional ammunition

Crew NOT included

Ammunition and accessories are scaled for the smaller, six-tube mortar. Scale to 150% for the 4-tube heavy mortar.

Lore: This multiple mortar system serves as lighter and simpler version of the larger “Thump Gun”. Also known as a “Hex-mortar” or “Hex-Launcher”, it appears to be nothing more complex than six mortar tubes mounted together on a Rapier Carrier. The firing system is slightly modified so that mortar rounds may be loaded into all tubes and then fired simultaneously. A more uncommon variant employs four heavy mortar tubes in the same type of mount. This simple system is quick to reload and can deliver an entire mortar battery’s worth of firepower.

Design Notes: I wanted something to work as a basic “quatro-launcher” to go alongside the alternate “Thump-gun” I’m making. A suitable replacement for a four-or-more barreled self-propelled indirect fire weapon in the grim future, which is also dark. Or whatever you want it to be. Design was inspired by the German “reihenwerfer” in WW2.
